What did you do to your rig today?

Recommended Posts

The A/C in Creampuff wasn't blowing super cold so George got a can of A/C Pro and added some refrigerant. It was easy and worked great! Sorry no pictures.

I finally installed the duel voltage gauge that has been sitting around for a good year.  It's the one that K-Smith installed.  It probably took him 10 minutes, but I stretched it out to a week.  It works! (sometimes I amaze myself).  I'll let it sit a day and see how much the voltage drops.  If it does, I can just pull it out and unhook the ground wire.

so did having that on all the time drain your battery?

No, not at all.  Since the aux battery is not connected to the alternator anymore, I have charge it on deep cycle setting about once a month.  Best un-mod I've ever done.

I am working on the interior of a Wagoneer.  Today was carpet day.  Look what I found when I pulled the shoulder belt from the floor!!!

The stitching in the seat belt was GONE. Just gone.  No signs of critters or anything else.  Luckily Devon is pretty handy with a Sewing machine, so she was able to save it.   The other belt was just fine.

I finally replaced my 5 year old red-top battery with a Duralast.  The 11 year old yellow top is still holding a charge.

Following up on my post from a few months ago, I replaced both front seat belts in the Wag with new ones from Juliano's.  The retractor reel was acting up and we decided to play it safe and go with new. Installed easily  and ready to go.

Moved the horns.  Had to make space under the hood for the next project and horns are pretty easy to move.   I know, I moved them once before..

Did one of the last interior items I intend to do on the Wagoneer.  Installed some slip type seat covers from Seats Unlimited in Mesa.  Before and after pics below.  Carpet was done a few weeks ago while I was waiting for the seat covers to come.  Still need to redo the Sun Visors.
