GRUNT 87 Posted September 1, 2009 Hey, come on now. What is a trip without a GRUNT's YJ break? I would like Tom for yanking me out of the bowl, Ksmith for towing me home, Tom for helping Ksmith and I up the mountain and then George for towing me home! I am 2 for 2 on the Cinders. I think I am going to keep the YJ down for the winter and do some mods, rewiring, cleaning. Perhaps once apart, the jeep gods will tell me that a driveline mod is in order. I will be using the XJ for the winter now. Thanks for a wonderful trip ORP!!! BTW - Picked up my jeep from G & D's. What a beautiful house! Very polite hosts, thanks for the beer and pulling my driveshaft before I even got there!
dzJeepChic 2,313 Posted September 1, 2009 We found this area where the Cinders are sliding Back at Camp Saturday Night Sunday while exploring on the way to the River Lava Tube Number 7's fan motor started squeeking And then it ceased Back at Camp Sunday night George had pre-fabbed our old motor to fit the new shroud Luckily the swap worked and Miss January and I got Number 7 home with no further troubleMore laterd
dzJeepChic 2,313 Posted September 1, 2009 When I got home we used Number 7's winch to get Grunt's Jeep off the trailer Thanks goodness the brakes work fine even though the engine isn't running. I had a tire chalk handy just in case it got away from us, but his Jeep came down nice and slow. Feel free to look at all the pictures I saved: http://s477.photobucket.com/albums/rr138/dzJeepChic/Cinders%202009/?albumview=slideshow Let me know if you want copies of any; I'd be happy to email to you or burn a disk. d
