  1. Both K7FRT and K7POO are available. Someone needs to jump on those! How about K7FWD or K7ORP?
  2. Hey, the RSS feed to 4x4 Ham worked. http://www.4x4ham.com/showthread.php?3987-Meeting-Saturday-2-8-2014-All-Jeep-Meet-amp-Greet-%28Scottsdale-AZ%29 Your event auto-posted and linked over here.
  3. Go to the FCC web site. Log in with your FRN that's on your license. There are web sites out there that charge crazy fees to do it for you. They are a rip off. https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsEntry/licManager/login.jsp
  4. This link should allow you to track several of the 4x4 Ham's APRS activity on the trail today. http://aprs.fi/#!mt=hybrid&z=11&call=a%2FK7VZ-9%2Ca%2FKE7NEA-9%2Ca%2FN7IYT-9%2Ca%2FN1HX-9%2Ca%2FK7DCL-9&timerange=43200&tail=43200
  5. 4x4 Ham is in the process of setting up a monthly testing session. Right now, we're holding test on March 1, AZFJ Hassayampa trail run and also leading the testing session at the Scottsdale Hamfest March 15. I believe both of those sessions will be free. (No $15 fee) We're working on getting setup as a Laurel VE team instead of ARRL. Electronic submissions for next day results at the FCC and no fees.
  6. Is anyone coming from Tucson? I found something on CL and was trying to get it without a 4 hour round trip. Maybe I could bribe someone to be a courier?
  7. Guests are fine. The only concern related to that is we were trying to get a head count to make sure there's enough food.
  8. Update: Offroad Passport and 4x4 Ham are going to provide the lunch. We're going to bring charcoal and George's cooking grate to make brats and hot dogs. For sides, we'll keep it simple with a variety of chips and soda. If you have alternate dietary needs or preferences, please bring your own. Communications: CB channel 4 Ham: Shaw/Ord talk in and 147.52Mhz trail simplex. The starting spot to meet is on the SE corner of Cave Creek Road and Bartlett Lake Road north east of Cave Creek/Carefree. See this link. http://goo.gl/maps/8i1yh Approximate timeline: 8:30-9am - Meet at Bartlett Lake Road turn off. 9am - Depart to trailhead and air down. 9:30 - 11am - Explore wash until we find a good place to stop for lunch. 11am - 2pm - Lunch, social time. 2pm - 4pm - More trail exploring, air up at Needles Rec. Area, depart for home. This link should mark air up spot. http://goo.gl/maps/JaKCw I've had a few questions about those needing to split off early for other commitments. This shouldn't be a problem. The trail is an easy/sandy wash and the day will be more social time than actual trail running. The clubs are providing all the food and tools, but if you have folding tables, we could probably use a few extra for food prep and deployment. Also, if you have an EZ-UP awning for shade, please bring that. Also, bring your own camp chairs.
  9. Evan has this gyroscope snack bowl that flips around is mostly spill proof. Hook up your crock pot in similar fashion.
  10. It's most likely the order the VE lists it on their roster when submitted. I ususually order them based on the initial check in sheet.
  11. Yep, log in at Online Filing. http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/index.htm?job=home
  12. You want the FCC ULS. (Universal Licensing System) That's the official, top level place to search. http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchLicense.jsp
  13. There's a 7 in my call. At least I'm not as old as Marcia.
  14. My weather station in north phoenix. http://silhanek.com/weather/
  15. Hmm, the longer one is called a separation cable. It's just a standard 6 pin phone cable.
  16. Try John "Hunter" to see if he could do the training? http://granitefirearmstraining.com/ Also, contact Brett Williamson with Forte Defense. I'm sure he would setup training for kids. https://www.facebook.com/fortedefense
  17. I was able to add items to the cart, but get this error when trying to check out.
  18. No. You could probably get this one to work as a receive antenna, but it's not for transmitting into.
  19. Ooh, I think she charges $100 a dozen. I'll trade you 2 dozen cookies for your ARB and $50. I want to pull my broken pump apart and make sure it's not an easy fix. I'll get back to you.
  20. There's some good reading at this link. http://www.4x4ham.com/showthread.php?1408-Air-compressor-tire-guage-for-trail-use-tire-pressure-suggestions Scott, will either of those air up JK tires or are they XJ only? I'm in the market for an air pump.
  21. For more reading, here is my take on Trail Welding with Batteries.
