bad battery or not (arguing with Sears)
K7VZ replied to theksmith's topic in Communications & Other Electronics
They are not properly load testing it. Take it to Checker and have them test it. If it fails, get something in writing to take to Sears? -
I'd love to build an offroad tear drop style camper, but haven't figured out how I'd sleep Marcia and I with Evan also.

We ran the White Rim loop in 2009. It is stock accessible. He shouldn't have any problems. It is extremely remote with no way to exit except either end of the loop. If I remember right, it took us 110 miles from pavement to pavement. Also, we did it in one day leaving Moab around 6am and returning around 6 or 7pm. We had to keep pace in mind. I don't think it rushed us along the day, but we didn't have time to get out and do any hikes or extended exploring at any of the pull outs. See my photos here. http://s687.photobucket.com/albums/vv231/k7azv/20090509%20Moab%20Utah/MoabThursday/

Merrell Geomorph Blaze Hiking Boot Review
K7VZ replied to matt@expaz's topic in Hiking, Biking & All Human Powered
I've had the Merrell Moab that looks very similar design for at least 4 years. I've almost got them worn out and will look at these when I go shopping. -
I took my JK to Just Brakes near my house and it looks like Pueblo Tire uses the same alignment software/machine. http://www.4x4ham.com/showthread.php?1745-Daystar-1-3-4-quot-Lift-Kit-Install-on-2011-JK

Inexpensive Hand-Held HAM Radio
K7VZ replied to theksmith's topic in Communications & Other Electronics
Universal Radio has the files linked for download. You can try installing the Win7 driver. I would think it could be made to work with Win8. http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/5934prgm.html If none of those work, try the Prolific drivers at this site. http://prolificusa.com/pl-2303hx-drivers/ -
Inexpensive Hand-Held HAM Radio
K7VZ replied to theksmith's topic in Communications & Other Electronics
I'm using Windows7 64bit and was able to get it to work with the Prolific drivers that came on the CD. The Baofeng software kept closing and opening itself, so I switched over to Chirp and it worked fine. -

Don't do that. It's good to know how to manually program, but you'll waste too much time doing it. I could help you program it, if needed. Also, for programming check out Chirp vs. using the software that came with it. http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home -
I think he was calling you an ass monkey. What direction are you going now with the pulled car PC?
-
Ham Radio Shop doesn't know what they are talking about. Horizontal separation never hurts, but I know many people that run both off the tire carrier.

Off the rear tire carrier works for most. Fab your own mount or if you want to buy something, this guy is local. http://www.arizonarockyroad.com/

Marcia's been begging me to buy her a new Grand Cherokee. I can't afford it at $40k +. Vehicle prices have gone crazy! -

I like it. I wouldn't buy it for offroading though. IFS and IRS, eww. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/26/2014-jeep-grand-cherokee-caught-with-new-headlights-grille-expo/ -

Fiat. The Jeep is dead. -
One of the acceptable answers. I think it's the Well's book that calls the trail Wickenburg Mountains. It has a few other names, (Isaac) Bradshaw's Grave as seen white fence in the back right.
-
The trail is near the "Bradshaw" mountains.

Not in the FJ area. There's something in the picture, if identified, makes it an easy guess. This thread needs a condensed version. I just reread all 500+ posts. I never realized I killed this thread for over a year in 2010-2011 with the following photo. Since it was never answered, it was Rattlesnake Canyon.

Ha, I'm pretty sure I was there that day. I remember all the fun spots. Here's my entry.

Marcia packed the cooler and Evan tried to haul it out to the Jeep. Moose! So much fun, he passed out.
