Just something to think about for down the road... An 8.8 is a great upgrade, especially compared to a Dana 35. You'll quickly find, however, that the differential housing is a massive anchor in the rocks. Depending on the types of trails you intend to run, you may want to plan on upgrading to 35" tires shortly after installing the 8.8 in your Jeep. The larger tires will be a better match with the 4.88 gears too. SCOT68 wheels with an 8.8 and 33" tires. He can tell you all about it.

They are all spoken for at the moment, but if any of the ones I'm taking don't work for me I'll offer to pay them forward to you.

I love when build threads begin with pictures of a trussed Ford 9" rear axle that will be mounted with Clayton long arms!
-
I'd wheel that too!

Please add the following people as "tentative" for this run. LO PHAT (in if he doesn't break his Jeep trying to hang with the big boys this coming weekend) SCOT68 (in if Rush goes and agrees to hold hands with him again) Matrix311 (in if LO PHAT goes) Also... gearhead (riding with LO PHAT if he goes)

So really the XJ should get everyone's votes. Coil springs and leaf springs together, a nice ride, two doors or four doors, square headlights, a fuel injected bullet-proof inline six engine ... what's not to love other than the lack of a real frame?

You both fail. There is nothing cooler than a CJ7.

More pictures of this please. It looks awesome!

I'll take the medium one too. These will greatly help with the limited "usable space" problem I have in the XJ. I'll send you a PM to make arrangements to get them from you. Thank you very much!

Depending on the price I might be interested in the bigger ones.

May you have the spirit of Christmas -- peace, joy, and love -- throughout the year.

A few thoughts here: 1) Don't bother with the double steering damper. That is a Band-Aid that only masks the real problem(s). 2) You need to isolate what the actual problem is rather than throwing a bunch of money at various parts. 3) Things to check: alignment, tires, ball joints, u-joints, tie rod ends, pitman arm nut, steering gear box, steering gear box bolts, upper control arm bushings, lower control arm bushings, compromise of caster and pinion angle 4) You should be able to drive the Jeep with no steering damper and not have death wobble. Once everything checks out, keep the single steering damper on there for comfort and added security.

Done... By the way, there are a few mistakes on the wording of selectable choices in the survey. To collect better data someone should fix them.
