  1. Only 4 days until the gala! 2 quick business things before the festivities begin: 1. (okay for couples share one form). Also, please fill this out again even if you have done so before. Thank you! 2. ORP Pets Policy We have come this close 🤏 to prohibiting pets at this event because sometimes not everyone follows the few simple guidelines in the ORP Pets Policy. We really don't want to do that, because that makes it a lot harder for a lot of people to get away for the 3 day weekend. So we ask that pet owners read and follow these guidelines, especially at this event where there are more people and pets than usual. The campground also has strict leash policies. PLEASE READ: Offroad Passport Pet Policy (Official) Our priority is the safety of our members and their enjoyment of Offroad Passport trips and events. Friendly, non-disruptive pets are welcome on most trips. Trip leaders have final say whether pets (in general or specific ones) are welcome on their run. Pets must be well behaved around other pets and people, including small children. They must be on a leash and in the owner's control at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets (picking up their waste) in a timely manner. Members whose pets exhibit dangerous, threatening or disruptive behavior during an outing (such as biting, growling, snapping, barking, chasing, taking food, begging for food, marking other people's property, etc.) will be asked to keep their pet in their rig or at their camp, away from rest of the group for the duration of the trip. Pets that repeatedly disrupt or threaten group safety will not be allowed to attend future trips and events. Thanks everyone for your cooperation! Now let's go have fun!!

  3. What: ORP Meet & Greet at the Pavilions Rock & Roll Car Show in Scottsdale, AZ. The car show at the Pavilions shopping area in Scottsdale is the perfect opportunity to get the ORP fam together for a Meet & Greet! When: Saturday, April 30, 2022 The car show official time is 4:00 - 8:00 PM Cars (Jeeps/Rigs) may begin parking in Car Show Parking Area at 3:00PM Cars (Jeeps/Rigs) that want to park in the Car Show Parking Area should arrive/group up before 3:00 Where: The Pavilions at Talking Stick - North side of street Main Entrance Address: 9120 East, Talking Stick Way (aka Indian Bend Road), Scottsdale, AZ 85250 Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/LBAgNQJHn3Z4owrM8 Things to know: The car show is held on the north side of Talking Stick Way, behind Union 76 Gas Station, McDonalds, Denny's, Panda Express Car show parking fills up fast! Rigs that want to be in the Car Show area should show up earlier than 3:00. If you run a little late and miss parking with the group, there is still plenty of parking in front of the Home Depot. Bring chairs, snacks and or beverages. McDonalds and lots of other restaurants nearby. It's fun to walk the car show rows! It's also great to have people stop and ask questions about your rig! Helpful Tips: If a few rigs are willing to meet up early (like right when they start letting cars in) they could "save an ORP spot". *As of the last time we were there* it was okay for the early arrivers to save spots with chairs and ice chests. Sign-Ups: No Rig Limits! Everyone Welcome! Let's fill the place up with Offroad Rig Beauty! @theksmith @4x4tographer @shellback91 @lofreqjeff @johnpa @Toy4runr85 @J2DXPLR @Dennis Szymanski @K2man56 @SonoranWanderer Please reply to this thread if you plan to be there so we can watch for you!
  4. We’re excited to announce Offroad Passport Club's 2022 Event Lineup! There are 15 official events on the 2022 itinerary! Many are multi-day overland style adventures that we're known for, along with day/night runs, meet-n-greets, and even community volunteer events. These cover trails ranging from easy to extreme, and are located primarily in Arizona though we'll also visit California and Utah again this year! We're really proud of our community as nearly all of these events are organized by club members. The "official" designation just being that folks were willing to commit to leading their adventures well in advance so that other members can plan ahead. We also try to have a full year's worth of events on the calendar so prospective new members can see what a vibrant and active club this is! Please note that most official club events are available only to Offroad Passport Club members, so if you haven't upgraded yet - don't miss out! Thank you!
  10. Dry camping means no fancy facilities like running water, toilets, showers, etc. K knows some places that are 2wd/RV/Travel Trailer accessible in the same vicinity.

  12. Where do you want to go? I don't know, where do you want to go? Hey everyone, we're planning Saturday's trail ride for the Annual Dirt Formal Gala, and would like your feedback. Please vote for the Saturday activity that appeals the most to you. This is just for planning, so you're not committing to anything. We have several trail ride ideas, and there are also other fun activities in the area if folks would like to go off on their own, or get together a group. We've listed the 2 trails and a few alternate activities, and an 'Other', so we can get an idea of how many people will be on the actual trail ride, which trail is preferred, and if we should organize an alternate activity. Vote for: 1. Honanki Indian Heritage Site & Outlaw 4x4 Trail 2. Woodchute 4x4 Trail 3. House Moutain 4x4 Trail 4. Tuzigoot 4. Verde Canyon Railroad 5. Sedona or Jerome Shopping & Sightseeing 6. Wine Tasting Around Page Springs Lead by Eugene 7. Other Descriptions Below ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Honanki Indian Heritage Site & Outlaw Trail A. Honaki Ruins Hike: https://thehikehouse.com/trails/honanki-ruins Honanki (Hopi for Bear House) Ruins sit at the base of Loy Butte on the sheltered west-facing cliffs. They are among the largest ancient population sites in the Verde Valley, occupied between AD 1130-1280. The site originally contained about 60 rooms. The cave is rich with pictographs; some date back to 2000 BC, long before the cliff dwellings. Most of the pictographs are from the Sinagua and date to AD 900-1300. Others by the Yavapai or Apache date from 1400-1875. Hiking Distance: 0.4/0.8 miles (One way/Round Trip) Time: 1 hour (Round Trip) Elevation Change: 50 ft. Difficulty: Easy B. Outlaw Trail: Ancient Indian ruins, seclusion, and wide open panoramic views are what you get with this off-road trail just outside of Sedona, Arizona. Starting off at the Honanki Indian Heritage site, this route travels 6.5 miles through the Coconino National Forest on an old, and much less traveled ranching road. Leave the people behind and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Sedona red rocks, Mingus Mountain, and many other surrounding mountain ranges. This is a nice and easy wheeling trail with lots of great scenery, and a few small challenging rock crawls to hone your off-roading skills. Video from Trails Offroad: Difficulty: 2-4(EASY-MODERATE) Length: 6.5 Miles 2. Woodchute 4x4 Trail: Woodchute Trail is an easy, very scenic trail, near Jerome, AZ. There are panoramic views of the Verde Valley. The trail can be brushy in places (expect AZ pin-striping) and possibly tippy in one spot that tends to wash out but is easily navigable. 3. House Mountain 4x4 Trail, near Page Springs, 4x4 easy, scenic. Curly has graciously volunteered to lead. Description from Trails Offroad: This 12 mile out & back trail is a fantastic route to take during the busy traffic months, it is just south of Sedona and a bit of a locals secret! After heading 6 miles up to the top of House Mountain, you will drive right up to an amazing view of the Sedona red rocks from a very unique "back side" perspective, this is one of the few trails in the area that features an incredible 360 degree view of the surrounding towns. This is a great starter trail before heading into Sedona and tackling some of the tighter, more advanced trails. It is fairly smooth for the first section then becomes rocky with small shelves and ups and downs through many wash crossings. Difficulty 2-4 (Easy to Moderate) Length 6.2 Miles 4. Tuzigoot: Operated by National Parks, there is a fee to visit these ruins that are car accessible. Located just a couple miles from camp. There is a nice little museum and huge ruins, as well as a very short hike to an overlook of a marsh. https://www.nps.gov/tuzi/index.htm 4. Verde Canyon Railroad: From the moment you step foot on one of our meticulously refurbished train cars, you and your family will be transported to a simpler, more leisurely time away from the distractions and annoyances of our modern world. Breathe deep, order a drink and relax as you glide along on a 3.5-hour, 20-mile journey through 110 years of history while still enjoying modern creature comforts like climate control, comfortable seating, thoughtful décor and awe-inspired scenery. Train departs Saturday at 1PM Prices range from $75 - $122 for Adults/$54-$99 for Kids Reserve early https://verdecanyonrr.com/ 5. Sedona or Jerome Shopping & Sightseeing: We will be in close proximity to both Sedona and Jerome, where there's lots of shopping, restaurants, and other things to do! There are wineries, gift shops, art and crafts, antique shops, Slide Rock State Park, and Jerome Historic State Park. 6. Wine Tasting Around Page Springs with Eugene (Mike) has graciously offered to lead a side trip to taste wine. Other: Let us know if you just want to do your own thing. No worries!

  15. Thanks to the support of our paying members, Offroad Passport has been able to maintain annual associate memberships with the Blue Ribbon Coalition and TreadLightly! for a number of years. Last year, while preparing for the trip to Sand Hollow, Offroad Passport became a member club of the Utah Public Lands Alliance, and this month we purchased a club membership with the CAL4Wheel. We want you to know that a lot of thought went into spending your money on these memberships. We selected organizations that we feel have the most positive impact on OHV in the constant battle to maintain access to public lands. We encourage you to check out their websites and learn more about what they are doing and how you can help. Blue Ribbon Coalition (www.sharetrails.org) - Over 25 years of advocacy and legal representation, BRC has been a champion against the closure of our public lands. They have a proven track record of fighting 'the endless stream of litigation by anti-access' proponents. TreadLightly! (www.treadlightly.org) - The goal at TreadLightly! is to balance the needs of people who enjoy outdoor recreation with the need to maintain healthy ecosystems. They offer Tread Training and Respected Access Programs to teach users of public lands how to 'leave no trace', and head up many Restoration Projects that help keep our recreation areas open. Offroad Passport co-founder Kristoffer Smith is a Master Tread Lightly! Trainer. The Tread Lightly! website is a wonderful resource of programs, tips, and online courses that they offer to help you learn Tread Lightly! principles. Utah Public Lands Alliance (UPLA) (www.upla.com) - UPLA strives to preserve Utah's public lands for all to enjoy and use by organizing projects that protect and enhance our land to make it more enjoyable for everyone. We watch closely any Legislation that might restrict our use of the lands and encourage legislation that preserves it. We also hold special events that encourage people get out, have fun and enjoy this beautiful land that surrounds us. Cal4Wheel (California Four Wheel Drive Association) (www.cal4wheel.com) - Since 1959, this non-profit organization has actively promoted the advancement of vehicle oriented outdoor recreation. Today, the association represents over 8,000 members and 160 member clubs. It is the largest organization of its type in California and represents owners of all makes and models of 4WD vehicles, as well as non-owners who support responsible vehicle-oriented recreation.
  16. Offroad Passport Garage Sale Offroad Passport Tee Shirts $5.00 each! We sampled a new tee shirt vendor over the summer that did not meet our exacting standards. There's nothing wrong with these shirts per se, except that our logo isn't perfect, and some of them fit weird. We don't feel that we can sell them as Official Offroad Passport merchandise in good conscience. So to cut our losses, we're selling them at a fraction of their cost. There are many creative uses for tee shirts: Jeep seat back covers, shop rags, classy wall hanging, wrap your tools in them, plus so many more! And if you end up with a shirt you like to wear then, SCORE! These are ALL LADIES SIZES ONLY! They all have the Offroad Passport words logo on the upper left front, and the round logo on the back. Various styles described below. HOW TO SNAG YOURS: FIRST COME FIRST SERVED! Simply respond to this thread telling us which ones you want! We can either save them until the next time we see you or ship them to you at regular USPS rates. 21. Where do you want to go offroad in 2020? The Offroad Passport Team has already started shaping up some really great trip ideas that we are going to lead this fall, and in 2020. Like every year, we're planning a year in advance so you guys can get time off from work, or whatever, and go. And again this year, we're reaching out to our members to help round out the trips & events calendar. This is a club, and to keep it going, we need participation in the form of folks leading or co-leading trips. We are looking for people with trip ideas, who are willing to lead a trip with our support. We can help with planning, permits, posting in the forum, routes, maps, GPS tracks, etc. (we love this stuff ). No guarantee, but most likely we'll sign up for your run or alt-lead it because that's how we roll. NEW this year, we need people willing sign up as Alt-leader. Alternate leaders will take over leadership of a trip if the original leader gets sick, or for whatever reason, can't go, or needs to meet later, or whatever. The Alt-leader would be fully supported with gpx tracks, maps, review of the the trip plan, any permits, etc. We hope to eliminate last minute cancellations. The more people willing to try their hand at leading a trip of any kind, the better! In fact, day runs and one night camp-outs are the most popular; most people can't take off for a week, except maybe once a year. We think it would even be awesome to see us start having meet-n-greets, BBQ's, or similar non-wheeling events here and there! So now is the time to let us know what trails you'd be up for leading this fall or in 2020. We had such great response last year; let's keep it going! We want to see this club really take on a life of it's own! Post in this thread or PM us. Thanks in Advance to Everyone!
