  1. I'm sorry, but I have to cancel. I have to spend Saturday morning with a guy from the mortgage company closing on my re-financing of the house. I was in charge of condiments and cheese, so I hope somebody else can fulfill this duty. I'm bummed that I have to cancel, but on the bright side, I'll be getting some much needed $$$$$. Have fun.
  2. I picked up a pair of Baofeng GMRS radios since it seems to be the latest fad. Arrived from Amazon within 6 hours of ordering! Maybe I can figure out how to use them.
  3. I finally replaced my 5 year old red-top battery with a Duralast. The 11 year old yellow top is still holding a charge.
  4. No, not at all. Since the aux battery is not connected to the alternator anymore, I have charge it on deep cycle setting about once a month. Best un-mod I've ever done.
  5. Thanks. It's been so long that my doctor retired 3 years ago! Trying a new doc.
  6. I'm pretty doubtful about making this trip. I'm having some physical problems which may make it hard to wheel and almost impossible to camp. Maybe time to see a doctor for the first time in years.
  7. Great video. I finally saw a new Bronco the other day. From the side, I thought it was an older Defender. From the front, it looks like an IH Scout. I like it. The new Defender in the video was a joke.
  8. I finally installed the duel voltage gauge that has been sitting around for a good year. It's the one that K-Smith installed. It probably took him 10 minutes, but I stretched it out to a week. It works! (sometimes I amaze myself). I'll let it sit a day and see how much the voltage drops. If it does, I can just pull it out and unhook the ground wire.
  9. I began ripping out the National Luna Duel Battery system today. Gremlins had invaded it leading to battery discharge. I just throw the charger on the 11 year old yellow top when it gets low.
  10. I hiked it so much back in the '90s for school, that I actually got tired of it
  11. I found this at Autozone. All you need is a hand drill and a spray bottle.
  12. I'm just trying to figure out how overlanding is even remotely similar to Burning Man.
  13. I finally removed that little gizmo that is responsible for day time running lights. I also tried out some of that headlight restoration stuff. It worked pretty good.
  14. You think? Most of those miles were with ORP. I walk a lot. I've lost 25 lbs. since May!
  15. I have a question. Since there will be children around, should we wear masks and try to socially distance? I assume that French-kissing is prohibited.
  16. After 12 years, it was finally time for my 30,000 mile maintenance. It's amazing what happens to all rubber parts after 12 years in the Arizona heat. Belt, hoses, all fluids flushed and filled. The biggest expense was two new front half-shafts. Still, I can't complain. Only $1,800 spent after 12 years!!
  17. I'm 99% sure that I'll be there. I've never carved a pumpkin, so don't be surprised if mine looks like Nancy Pelosi. A lot of people may be up there hunting/scouting.
