DATE CHANGED FROM SATURDAY 5/20 to SUNDAY 5/21! Join us for a challenging climb up to an incredible scenic overlook and abandoned asbestos mine. This moderate rated trail runs through a burned area and is therefore prone to washouts, large eroded ditches, and inconveniently placed boulders and downed trees. It's also extremely narrow in places, so no full-size rigs please. [CLUB] Crapshoot Trail Wildflower Run | Near New River, AZ | 4x4 Moderate

Join me for a short day run on the moderate 4x4 trail "Crapshoot" in the Table Mesa area. This loop should make for some great views of the current spring bloom. Most stock high-clearance 4x4's with a low-range option on the transfer case can make this trail, though sway-bar disconnects and a small lift are recommended and will make things much easier. Total newbies may be intimidated by some of the steep loose climbs and small ledges, but folks with even a little experience on moderate trails should be fine. Click here for details or to sign-up... The rough plan is to meet in San Felipe, then drive 2 or 3 days to Loreto, and spend a couple, 3 or 4 days checking out that area before making our way back. Join me for a day run up the iconic Backway to Crown King, a Jeep Badge of Honor trail and local favorite. We'll spend 5-6 glorious hours on the trail, including lunch, and stop for a drink and/or meal in the famous town of Crown King! Trail Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult - This trail "changes" all of the time depending upon wear/weather. There are multiple (7) obstacles, all but 1 (to my knowledge) have a bypass. Join us for a fun run through Box Canyon in Florence, AZ (not to be confused with Box Canyon in Wickenburg). Box Canyon is the highlight of this trail ride providing southern access to the popular trail system just north of Box Canyon and Florence, Arizona commonly referred to as, "Florence Junction." untilCamp Verde To Mogollon Rim Overland Style Run Friday June 16th & Saturday June 17th Primitive Tent Camping | No Facilities Join me for 2 days and approximately 105 miles of exploration on this overland style run. This route will take us from Camp Verde to the Mogollon Rim where we will camp. I have pieced this together using various trails in the area. Most of these trails are easy to moderate based on my research, nothing too technical is involved. There some rocky two track sections mixed for good measure. Extra fuel is not necessarily required, however, if you have the ability to bring some it is worth considering doing so. Note this is an Offroad Passport Club members-only event. [Club] KOFA 2023 | Near Quartzite, AZ | Moderate 4x4

untilCome explore KOFA Wildlife Refuge for 3 days, 2 nights and approximately 125 miles(Actual Mileage TBD) of exploration on this overland style run. This run will take us through some amazing parts of the KOFA National Wildlife Refuge. We'll wind up at the Hovatter homestead Saturday night then head north to the I-10 on Sunday. We're interested in exploring the many pristine beaches along the Sea of Cortez, from San Felipe to Loreto in Baja de California, Mexico. We would be posting this as a ORP Club trip limited to 5 or 7 vehicles including leaders. We expect to be gone a week to 10 days, depending on what the group decides. This will be posted as easy 4x4, but will be required to have recovery points and some lift. EDIT: Looking at this more closely together, @Number7 and I think we would prefer to only go as far down the coast to about El Colorado, if that far, going from San Felipe to 2 or 3 other beach 'campos', and mostly hanging out, before heading back the same way. If we altered the trip to less distance, and 4 - 5 nights of beach camping (gone 7 days max) would you still be into going @alexshel44 & @shellback91 We are researching all the beach camps and hotels along the way for prices and amenities. Crossing the US Border We plan to cross the US Border into Mexico in Mexicali. We will stay together as a group until everyone is through the border and visa office. You will need a US Passport or a US Passport Card We will check in at the border to buy the required visas (depends on number of days we decide to stay) San Felipe - what Rocky Point used to be From there we'll go down to San Felipe for the night, either camp or get rooms at one of the many places to choose from. https://en.sandollarresort.com/ The next day we'll embark upon our journey to discover lazy days and fish tacos at pristine deserted beaches. We will explore along the coast each day until we decide where to stop for the night. There are camp sites and little hotels all along the way. If we decide just to stay a whole day and swim, we will. We'd like the trip to be fluid, and take shape along the way rather than have a set agenda. Some of the campos and points of interest: Leave San Felipe and drive MX Hwy 5 south along the sea of Cortez, stopping along the way at cool places. We will at times take dirt roads to beach coves. Several we've noted in google maps: Bahia Santa Maria Jenny's Beach Resort https://chenowthlegacylodge.com.mx/ After more consideration of this trip, the points of interest below are further than we intend to travel this time: San Francisquito Bahia de los Angeles Daggets Camp ground has palapas with fire pits, and there's running water and hot showers (I have found that there are many campos with showers and toilets in various states of repair) Bahia de los Angeles Museum Puerto San Francisquito Playa del Barril Bahia Concepcion Homeward Bound On the way home we can either go back the way we came, or we can take MX Hwy 1, which goes along the Pacific coast to Ensenada and Tijuana. We can talk about this before going and come up with a plan. There is not a lot that I want to see on the pacific side per se, but I'm not completely adverse to returning that way. The area around Ensenada is noted to be very beautiful. If someone wants to go on this trip but they can't be gone that long, they could go back early with another member. So if you want to go home early, pair up with someone who also wants to leave early. We'd prefer if everyone stays in pairs at least! Considerations: ~You will need Mexican pesos to buy things and tip people. There are several easy ways to obtain them: Purchase pesos at the border - usually fees and higher than going exchange rate I opened a WISE account, moved some US Dollars into it, and converted them into MX Pesos at the going rate for a very low conversion fee. When I get to the MX border, I'll go to a regular ATM to pull out pesos, and I'll use my WISE debit card wherever I can for food, gas, etc. You can buy pesos from your bank if you have a debit account at one of the big national banks such as Chase, Wells Fargo, BofA, etc. ~We will be monitoring US Travel advisories and news from Baja prior to the trip, and will cancel/postpone in the event it's not safe to go. Mogollon Rim- 7-16-22 - Easy To Moderate My wife and I will be in Payson 7-15 through 7-17 escaping the summer heat. She is not a camping person so we are staying at a hotel in town. There are camping spots all over up there if you want to camp Friday(7-15) or Saturday night or both nights. My plan is to run a few easy Mogollon Rim trails on 7-16 while we are up there. I want to revisit the area and check out some cabins, one of which is a short hike off one of the trails. If my math is correct we are looking at about 60 miles total. These are mainly easy trails where, based on prior experience, we can make good time. Here's the trails I have mapped out. Rim Road- I am starting on the East side off of HWY 260. This will be run West to the next trail. Cabin Loop Trail- We will run a good portion of this trail over to the next trail. FR 139G- We will run this short 2 mile trail south. Per TrailsOffroad there is an old homestead next to Aspen Spring that is worth checking out. They say the hike is easy and less than a 1/2 mile(one way) off this trail. Dick Hart Ridge- The previous trail ends here so we will continue south until this trail ends at Rim Road(FR 300) Rim Road- We will run this West to HWY 87 from where Dick Hart Ridge ends. . Meet-Up & Departure: Time: 0830 at the Rim Road trailhead off of Hwy 260. (Old Rim Road Visitor Center) There is an area there for all of us to stage up and air down. If folks want to meet 30 minutes earlier I am open to that as well. Depart NLT 0900 Google Map here. No service stations near by, recommend to top off off in or around Payson on the way in. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This trip is subject to cancellation or postponement due to rain, fire, inclement weather or $10 a gallon gas.🤣 Communications: GMRS - Channel 20 (462.675 MHz) Other Considerations: Plenty Of Water & Food (pack a lunch and snacks!) Dress for the weather. Folding chairs Sunscreen Camera Emergency supplies / Med Kit No facilities, plan accordingly DRIVER & VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS This trail is suitable for beginner for 4x4 enthusiasts. Be advised there is a good mix of terrain including but not limited to some mild off camber sections and loose rock in various spots. Vehicle Minimums: All vehicles are required to meet state legal requirements, (i.e.: current registration and insurance) Each vehicle must have a GMRS or HAM Radio in good working order Have functional seat-belts for each occupant Must have suitable recovery points front and rear High-clearance 4x4's with low-range 30"+ aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain tires SIGN-UPS Post a reply in this thread saying you'd like to go and I'll put you on the roster! I am setting it at 10 including me for now. Once the limit is reached, anyone asking to sign-up will be placed on the standby list. Thursday last week George @Number7 and I attended a Bullhead 4 Wheelers trailride. There was a large turnout for a 3.5 out of 5 rated trail; turns out there were bi-passes to the really tough obstacles. When I read the trail description to him, G was all in: The trail begins just east of Moss Back Mine. Narrow passage requiring side wall traction. Frequent large rocks in difficult terrain. Low range 4WD required in sections. Obstacles could result in body damage. Experience the famous Perseid Meteor Shower from near 6,000 ft! Our trip will include a daylight drive to the top of a mountain where we will be able to enjoy sunset in one of the most beautiful areas in the state. Once the sun has gone down and the stars have revealed themselves, we will be treated by the Perseid Meteor Shower, which happens to peak that night. [Club] Cherry Creek Trail Day Run | near Young, AZ | Difficult 4x4

Cherry Creek is a 41 mile run through the Sierra Anchas that spans a range of geographies from mountain pine to low desert. This trip is considered a bit of a swan song for the trail as it is slated to be closed by the Forest Service via their recent Travel Management Plan. Trail gains its rating for the following reasons: Off camber: mild to extreme Possible high water crossings Narrow shelf roads Trail/switchback washouts guaranteed Potential for body damage Vehicle Minimums: All vehicles are required to meet state legal requirements, (i.e.: current registration and insurance) & have functional seat-belts for each occupant Must have suitable recovery points front and rear Rock sliders/rocker protection Skid plate protection of important components Flexy suspension with sway bar disconnects High-clearance 4x4 with low-range 33"+ aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain tire Each vehicle must have a GMRS or Ham Radio in good working order Vehicle Recommendations: Winch, aftermarket differential covers, high-clearance metal bumpers, low axle gearing, 4:1 transfer case, 35"+ tires. Rescheduled Run Sat 9/18/2021: Montana Mountain Loop: Near Gold Canyon, AZ: Easy to Moderate (Photo credit https://funtreks.com) Join me on a 29 mile scenic high-mountain loop in the East valley. Montana Mountain - This trail rated Easy to Moderate. Heading up there are some steep and narrow parts that could be rutted depending on recent weather. There are some switchbacks on the east side coming down. 4 Low is recommended for this section to help control descent speed. GPX files: I have my own as well that I based off TrailsOffroad. If you 'd like that one as well let me know and I will add it. From Trails Offroad From FunTreks State Trust Land Permit Required Get it here: https://land.az.gov/applications-permits MEET-UP: 09:00 AM near the OHV parking lot near the trailhead. This is a big dirt lot so we can find a spot for all of us to stage up and air down. 33.27601, -111.27635 Google Map here. No service stations near by, recommend to top off off in Gold Canyon on the way in. Rough Itinerary Air down and depart meet up location NLT 09:30. Total time to complete the run is listed at approximately 5-6 hours(Depending on how may stops we make etc.) so we should be aired up by mid-afternoon. We decided to do some maintenance at John desert4x4's memorial before we move in a couple months. This is a run is Sunday, May 2, on Sunflower Mine Trail, but not the loop down in the creek. We're going in/out the moderate way in and out, not the difficult loop through the creek. I'm taking container, and I got some note pads and stuff. We'll do some clean up around the site, trim the bushes and just check on things in general, and have lunch there. Returning the same way we went in. Sign up and more info here... -

Returning the same way we went in. Meet up: 9:30 AM @ Ba'ja Gas Station/Chevron Map Here... (FYI I recommend you fuel up elsewhere as Ba'ja is pricey!) What to Bring: Plenty of water, lunch, snacks, sun-screen, hat, sunglasses, camera, usual trail gear i.e. tools, etc. Trail Conditions & Rig Minimums: The trail is rated moderate due to a few rocky ascents and descents, but is otherwise easy. It is suitable for high-clearance 4x4's with low-range and aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain tires. Must have suitable recovery points front and rear and CB or Ham Radio in good working order.
