What: ORP Meet & Greet at the Pavilions Rock & Roll Car Show in Scottsdale, AZ. The car show at the Pavilions shopping area in Scottsdale is the perfect opportunity to get the ORP fam together for a Meet & Greet! When: Saturday, April 30, 2022 The car show official time is 4:00 - 8:00 PM Cars (Jeeps/Rigs) may begin parking in Car Show Parking Area at 3:00PM Cars (Jeeps/Rigs) that want to park in the Car Show Parking Area should arrive/group up before 3:00 Where: The Pavilions at Talking Stick - North side of street Main Entrance Address: 9120 East, Talking Stick Way (aka Indian Bend Road), Scottsdale, AZ 85250 Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/LBAgNQJHn3Z4owrM8 Things to know: The car show is held on the north side of Talking Stick Way, behind Union 76 Gas Station, McDonalds, Denny's, Panda Express Car show parking fills up fast! Rigs that want to be in the Car Show area should show up earlier than 3:00. If you run a little late and miss parking with the group, there is still plenty of parking in front of the Home Depot. Bring chairs, snacks and or beverages. McDonalds and lots of other restaurants nearby. It's fun to walk the car show rows! It's also great to have people stop and ask questions about your rig! Helpful Tips: If a few rigs are willing to meet up early (like right when they start letting cars in) they could "save an ORP spot". *As of the last time we were there* it was okay for the early arrivers to save spots with chairs and ice chests. Sign-Ups: No Rig Limits! Everyone Welcome! Let's fill the place up with Offroad Rig Beauty! @theksmith @4x4tographer @shellback91 @lofreqjeff @johnpa @Toy4runr85 @J2DXPLR @Dennis Szymanski @K2man56 @SonoranWanderer Please reply to this thread if you plan to be there so we can watch for you!

At my company's annual gathering this week, we spent part of one day volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Mesa. We all had so much fun at the event, and I felt that the impact of our efforts was so meaningful, that I've reserved a time for Offroad Passport members to volunteer some time. The event entails getting checked in 'Covid style' (i.e.: temp check, mask, ect.,) listening to a short orientation, and then working together as a team to fill, seal, and pack as many packages of Manna Pack meals as we can. The FMSC team replenishes food bins and supports the teams throughout, as well as playing some nice loud rock-and-roll to help get everyone pumped! It's a fun and fast-paced 1.5 hours of production. Kids over 5 years old (accompanied by an adult) are welcome, are fully able to participate, and will enjoy the experience. What: Packaging meals for kids in need, worldwide. Where: Feed My Starving Children, 1345 S. Alma School Rd., Mesa AZ 85210 When: Saturday, June 19, 2021 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Please arrive 10 - 15 mins early so that we may gather our group). About FMSC: FMSC provides everything needed, and has honed the volunteer process to a precision 'T'. All you need to bring is yourself! FMSC offers volunteers a one-of-a-kind experience. You’ll hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped to our incredible partners working hard to reach the neediest children around the world. Frequently asked: https://www.fmsc.org/about-us/faqs FMSC works best with groups of 5, and we've reserved all 11 groups, or a total of 55 people, for this 2 hour shift. If we can't fill this number I will give the empty slots back sometime in May. LET'S DO THIS! Just post to this thread if you'd like to go or with any questions. PLEASE TELL US THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR PARTY WHO WILL BE ATTENDING - WE NEED AN ACCURATE HEAD COUNT. Sorry about the last minute post! We decided to do some maintenance at John desert4x4's memorial before we move in a couple months. This is a run is Sunday, May 2, on Sunflower Mine Trail, but not the loop down in the creek. We're going in/out the moderate way in and out, not the difficult loop through the creek. I'm taking container, and I got some note pads and stuff. We'll do some clean up around the site, trim the bushes and just check on things in general, and have lunch there. Returning the same way we went in. Meet up: 9:30 AM @ Ba'ja Gas Station/Chevron Map Here... (FYI I recommend you fuel up elsewhere as Ba'ja is pricey!) What to Bring: Plenty of water, lunch, snacks, sun-screen, hat, sunglasses, camera, usual trail gear i.e. tools, etc. Trail Conditions & Rig Minimums: The trail is rated moderate due to a few rocky ascents and descents, but is otherwise easy. It is suitable for high-clearance 4x4's with low-range and aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain tires. Must have suitable recovery points front and rear and CB or Ham Radio in good working order.
