6/23 - 6/24/2018: Camping on the Rim, near Pine AZ, 4x4 easy, primitive camping

Mid June is the perfect time to go camping on the Mogollon Rim; it's already starting to get hot in the desert, so it's nice to escape to the high country, but monsoon season hasn't gotten started yet (we hope!). No trail ride this time; this will be an easy overnight camping only trip to just relax and enjoy each other's company, although a hike to the train tunnel is a possibility for the energetic folks. We'll stake out a spot for the group on Milk Ranch Point, near Forest Road 300, aka The Rim Road.

Join us as we take a series of trails from Parker, AZ across the Buckskin Mountains and Crossman Peak, camping along the way. These trails are described as rocky, challenging, and in one spot, intimidating. There are plenty points of interest along the route; lots of mines, an abandoned WWII landing strip, the infamous Nellie E saloon, and a possible warm spring. We've rated the trip as difficult because of the exploratory nature.
