October 21 - 27, 2018: San Rafael Swell and Capitol Reef, Southeast Utah, 4x4 Easy to Mod, primitive & improved campground

Let's explore central southern Utah, focusing on the San Rafael Swell & Capitol Reef areas. We'll visit numerous majestic points of interest including the Temple of the Moon and Glass Mountain in Capitol Reef National Park and Goblin State park to name a few, and hike a slot canyon two. Bring your camera so you won't miss the amazing photographic opportunities throughout the trip! We will be both dry camping and staying at commercial or park campgrounds with shower facilities.

December 1 - 4, 2018: Parker & Lake Havasu 'Splorin, near Parker, AZ, 4x4 Difficult, primitive camping

Join us as we take a series of trails from Parker, AZ across the Buckskin Mountains and Crossman Peak, camping along the way. These trails are described as rocky, challenging, and in one spot, intimidating. There are plenty points of interest along the route; lots of mines, an abandoned WWII landing strip, the infamous Nellie E saloon, and a possible warm spring. We've rated the trip as difficult because of the exploratory nature.

January 5, 2019: 9th Annual Holiday Party, Trail Ride, BBQ, Gift Exchange & Cookie Contest: near Fountain Hills, AZ: 4x4 Easy to Moderate

It's time for Offroad Passport's Annual Holiday party after the Holidays! Join us for a short trail ride and big time fun! There's BBQ'd burgers & dogs and a potluck lunch, the infamous cut-throat white elephant gift exchange, and the annual cookie contest (AND JUDGING - YUM!)! After all the fun and excitement we'll head back the way we went in, probably airing up by mid-afternoon. It's a fun day with your Offroad Passport friends!

January 26, 2019: Apache Tears Rock Hounding & Picnic Lunch: near Superior, AZ: 4x4 Moderate

We're going to a place known for nice, large Apache Tears. We'll take a very short, moderate Jeep trail to a small parking area, then it's a short easy hike to the site; maybe a quarter mile or so. Bring chisels, hammers, eye protection, gloves, and something to carry your treasures in. Remember water, sun protection, and a lunch, because there are several great picnic areas nearby.

February 28 - March 3, 2019: Hummingbird Springs Wilderness: near Tonopah AZ: 4x4 Easy to Moderate: Primitive camping

The Hummingbird Springs Wilderness is located at the northwest end of the Belmont Mountains, and the the southwest border of the wilderness is the northeast border of the Big Horn Mountains Wilderness, of the Big Horn Mountains (Arizona). This group's first exploratory trip to the area turned up lots of wildlife viewing, multiple stops at abandoned mining ruins, spectacular scenery, and "best camp site in the state".

March 28 - 31, 2019: Vermilion Cliffs National Monument: near Cliff Dwellers, AZ: 4x4 Easy/Moderate: Hotel or Camping

Enjoy the beauty of the Vermilion Cliffs NM in northern Arizona. It is known for 'The Wave', Coyote Buttes South and White Pocket, but there is way more to find. There are Indian ruins, rock art, wonderful rim overlooks and fantastic scenery.

March 31, 2019: Granite Hills Trail: near Scottsdale, AZ: 4x4 Moderate

Take a short relaxing trail ride high on the ridges alongside Eleven Mile Wash, from Carefree to Rio Verde! Terrain ranges from well-packed two track, decomposing granite and sandy washes. With the McDowell Mountains' and their prominent 'Tom's Thumb' visible to the south, and Four Peaks off to the east, the scenery is spectacular from this area.

April 27 - 28, 2019: Lake Pleasant to Table Mesa Exploratory: near Phoenix, AZ: 4x4 Difficult: Possible Primitive Camping

This was a trip originally scheduled in 2017 that got cancelled due to weather. We're going to explore this route that "appears" to go from Lake Pleasant out to Table Mesa. Get the inside scoop as we discover more about the area near Tip Top Mine. Negotiate the rugged terrain and soak up the amazing scenery as we gain elevation from Lake Pleasant into a canyon where a spectacular saguaro forest thrives. We're going into exploratory mode!

May 14 - 20, 2019: Sand Hollow OHV Area: near Hurricane, UT: 4x4 Moderate to Difficult: Hotel or Camping

Trails range from mildly moderate to difficult. There are several moderate trails that follow the outer edges of the park, offering amazing scenery (photography). There are also quite a few trails that go from the OHV area to other historical or scenic destinations nearby. Members are welcome to join us for all or any part of the adventure! We may break into smaller groups depending on what trails everyone wants to run. There are primitive camping, improved campsites, and improved group sites at Sand Hollow State Park with bathrooms (flush toilets and showers!) and there are hotels, airbnbs, restaurants, shopping, nearby.

September 6, 2019 (Pending Permit): Casner Mountain Trail: near Cottonwood, AZ: 4x4 Moderate

Originally built to maintain power lines, Casner Mountain Trail offers spectacular views of the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness and Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness and the Verde Valley. The trail follows an old jeep road which still provides access to the power lines. This trip is pending receipt of a required group permit. Join us for this special photo-worthy day trip at a cool 6,500' elevation.

September 6 - 8, 2019: Tucson Trails: near Catalina, AZ: 4x4 Moderate: Primitive Camping

Come run some trails north of Tucson! We're thinking of warming up on easy trails Tucson Wash and 96 Ranch on Friday, and running Charouleau Gap Saturday, possibly camping again along the way. If you live in the Phoenix area, you'll be amazed at how much cooler the nights are in Tucson; the camping should be perfect.

October 2 - 6, 2019: Arizona Strip, Grand Canyon North Rim, Grand Parashant National Monument: near Mesquite, UT: 4x4 Easy: Primitive Camping

Enjoy the beauty and remoteness of the Arizona Strip. There can be found overlooks like Kelly Point, Twin Point, Whitmore Point, Mollies Point, Kanab Point and much more. All are seldom visited and allow great views into the Grand Canyon and its vicinity.
