GRUNT 111 Posted August 12, 2009 My name is Allen. I am a father of 3, a former Marine(Grunt) and a Engineer/Paramedic(firefighter.) I could tell you what I did in the Marines, but you would not believe me. I have been camping since my youth but after being invited to a previous expedition group by George & Diane, I am hooked on "expeditions." I have a 1993 Canyon Metallic Blue Jeep Wrangler(YJ,) which I bought new while in the Marines. She is a work-horse. With a lift, 33s, lockers, winch and recovery gear, she has seen plenty of action. If you know me, you know I will try anything but will not go into a situation that I know will destroy her. She has been in 22 different states and I plan on taking her to more. My new project is actually an old vehicle of mine. A 99 2wd Cherokee(XJ,) that I am turning into an expedition vehicle. I have all the parts for the 4wd conversion except a front Dana-30. I have been motivated by Diane's cherokee project, and will post a build thread for you to follow. I too have been, and still am, members of other groups but as Phil said..."I have high expectations of this group." theksmith 5,778 Posted August 14, 2009 Hey man, welcome to the party! hey you mentioned in another post that you are having trouble finding a D30 front for that cherokee... did you contact AMC 4X4 Salvage? or do they just want an arm and a leg? Anytime you want some help hitting the you-pull-it-ya-dam-self yards like ecology auto salvage or what not, let me know and i'll go with you and we can wrangle an axle out of somethin!
