I’ve been involved in the Arizona Jeep and Offroad Community for about 8 years now, since my husband George and I bought and built a 2001 Cherokee. I (the techie) signed us up on the old VJC bbc and yahoo group back then, in fact I still get the yahoo group emails. We’ve also been long-time members of several local clubs, and are current members of the Walapai4Wheelers in Kingman, as well. I was always more of a spectator than a participant until our first trip to the Rubicon a couple years ago. Until then I was content to let George do all or most of the driving, but that trip in particular made me want to develop and hone my offroad driving skills. I’m not sure what happened, but something clicked. Since then I’ve made it a lot more of a point to get out there and practice, and I’m proud to say that I drove 2 sections of the Rubicon in July when we went back this summer. I was in a little over my head once or twice, but I did fine and actually surprised myself. George and I have been doing more expedition type travel for about 4 years now, and we’ve grown to enjoy leading these types of trips. From the Devil’s Highway to The Rubicon, we’ve led all sorts of trails, and always have a great time doing it. We just bought a ’96 Cherokee that we’re building into an Expedition Vehicle, so you’ll either see me in it or, our renowned Wrangler, 'Number 7'. Either way, be sure to stop me and introduce yourself or just say ‘Hi’! That’s what we’re all about!
