rubicontrail.net 1 Posted August 31, 2015 My Wrangler has the A/C control with the knob (for controlling fan speed) and two sliders (for controlling temperature and mode). The fan only works on positions 3 and 4. After 30 minutes or so my face has formed icicles and there are penguins playing in the back seat. I really would prefer that the fan also operated on the 1 and 2 positions. Before I go tearing things apart, is there anything else I should be looking at besides replacing the fan speed knob? scottL 185 Posted August 31, 2015 Sounds similar to this: http://www3.sympatico.ca/fm.mjb/Resistor.htm
In-A-Rut 3 Posted August 31, 2015 Yep that would be the problem. You can check the resistance. Resistance should go down as speed increases.
rubicontrail.net 1 Posted May 1, 2016 I finally got around to replacing the resistor last week. The old one was a brittle rusty thing lodged full of cobwebs. I put in the new one, and cool... I now have all four fan speeds.
