WILL E 525 Posted April 10, 2025 I have a brand new oil pan and before I put it on my rig I need a bung welded in (1/4" NPT) for a temp sensor. I am thinking radiator shop or just find a 'welding' place? Or maybe a fabricator? Thoughts? And you guys know anyone in the McKellips/Lindsey area of Mesa?
ob1jeeper 849 Posted April 14, 2025 Any decent welding shop should be able to handle that. If it's steel, you might consider brazing or silver soldering the bung in place. ;)
Luke Dawson 1 Posted July 12, 2025 A welding or fabrication shop is your best bet. Most radiator shops don’t handle custom work like that anymore. Look for a local fab shop that does aluminum or steel welding (depending on your pan). You could also check with off-road or performance shops they often do sensor bung installs. In the Mesa area, try shops like RPM Fab or AZ WELD & FAB they’re known for doing small custom jobs. Just call ahead to make sure they handle oil pans.
