Where? Details:

Thursday we plan to drive part of Willow Springs Road, until we find a good camp spot.

Willow Springs Road is South Trail #26 in the Backcountry Adventures AZ book, and is listed as:

- long, easy trail through scenic ranchland

- sweeping vistas and grasslands

- 1,800 to 3,200 ft in elevation

- difficulty 2 of 10

- approx 50 miles long

- drive time 1.5 hours

- starts near Kelvin, AZ

- finishes near Oracle, AZ

Friday we will finish the Willow Springs Road and that will put us not far from Peppersauce Cave and Campground, which we can explore. We can decide as a group on Friday morning if we want to come back to the same camp site, camp at Perpersauce, or a new location. Friday we may also explore Oracle Control Road.

Oracle Control Road is South Trail #27 in the Backcountry Adventures AZ book, and is listed as:

- less traveled dirt road that accesses Summerhaven at the top of Mt. Lemmon.

- 4,500 to 7,900 ft in elevation

- difficulty 2 of 10

- approx 25 miles long

- drive time 2.5 hours

- starts in Oracle, AZ

- finishes in Summerhaven, AZ

Saturday we can all drive home or maybe stay another night if we've found more to explore!

ok so Diane, you guys are bringing the Fryer, the Turkey, and the Propane and we'll all just pay you for those things right?

we'll get some peanut oil from Costco then, and I think Aimee's going to make stuffing and I'll find out what other sides...

Scott you still in? and what bringing?

looking forward to it. homemade pumpkin pie or pecan pie are my speciality, what would everyone prefer? i'm good for one of either. i can bring other sides too: green bean caserole, candied yams, etc. let me know your preferences.

MMMMM, Pie. I'd choose pumpkin, don't know about everybody else. I can do the green beans, we have a camping oven, so why don't you bring the yams?

This run is motorhome friendly. George:cool::D;)

EDIT: george was just kidding with phil here, in case you missed the *wink*, this run is 2wd, but you still need a high clearance vehicle such as a pickup truck or SUV. - theksmith
