dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted March 25, 2019 Last week we went to March Madness in Kingman. G and I were there for days 2 - 5; Friday through Monday. Theksmith joined us for days 3 - 5. Friday we ran Secret Pass Trail, near Golden Valley. This is a very scenic trail with a couple technical rocky sections. All my pictures from Secret Pass >>>>Click Here Here are a few of my faves: Our fearless leader, Wayne Saturday we ran Serendipity, near Kingman, and theksmith joined the group. This is trail can be super difficult, or not so much. The last time we were there almost everybody had to winch up the gatekeeper, but this time only one Jeep needed to be winched. We witnessed our 2nd rollover at the gatekeeper; luckily nobody was hurt. In the 4 times that we've run this trail, Friday was the first time George and I made it to the upper section. We still haven't run it all the way to the top, but we've officially done two-thirds. Now I know the best vantage point for that obstacle! theksmith on the gatekeeper Gadget says, "Hey, wait for me!" The final obstacle of the upper-section we conquered Christian liked it Joan coming up Continued...
dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted March 27, 2019 On Sunday we ran Sleeping Princess, including the Bob Miller Extension and the Hell's Half Mile. This trail is close to Bullhead City, and once you've completed all the offshoots, and climb the hills, you get a spectacular view of Bullhead, Laughlin, the Colorado River and Mojave Lake. All my pictures from Saturday >>>>>CLICK HERE Starting out, you can see the mountains with all these interesting formations When you get to the Bob Miller Extension, you either need to climb up a 12' waterfall, or go up and around, and down this super steep hill Waiting in line for the next obstacle Theksmith behind us in line At the next obstacle most people turn around on the trail, and then back up this little hill to get lined up for the rocks. You have to go up this rock a little bit to get turned around. Clifford went up it a lot because he wanted to say Hi! Starting up the hill Interesting area Monday was our last day there, and we ran Moss Wash the Hard Way. Moss Wash Trail goes to the Gold King Mansion in the Walapai Mountains, and we'd done that before a bunch of times. This time though, we took the wash all the way, rather than the trail. The wash was flowing water from all the recent rain and snow, so it was pretty tricky in many places. But we made it through just fine, and split off from the group before reaching the mansion and heading for the highway home. All my pictures from Moss Wash the Hard Way >>>>>Click Here Yikes! Look out for your door K! Wayne doing crazy XJ tricks up front One Jeep needed a little help over some of the rocks And that was the end of March Madness 2019 for us 3. We went all the way to Highway 93 on a dirt road through some beautiful country. It was a very fun event and we all had a great time. Huge shout out to Wayne - stockjeep - for leading everyday! You did an amazing job of keeping the group moving and organized. Kudos my friend. Also thanks to ChrisD for helping to organize this event each year.
