GTGallop 60 Posted 10 hours ago I'll be camping at the GC later in September. Was thinking about breaking camp early and heading to Williams and picking up the road to the bottom of the canyon. I'm assuming and hoping that folks here have done that? Wondering how long it takes and what I should be ready for. jgaz 750 Posted 10 hours ago You may know this but the only road to the bottom of the canyon starts in Peach Springs AZ. It is about 80 miles from Williams. The road is a, usually rough, 20+ miles and 3000+ feet of elevation loss down to a river raft take out area at Diamond Creek. No road exists to supply Phantom Ranch.
