The Slickrock campground is a truley terrible place to stay! fangars 1 Posted April 30, 2011 My wife and I stayed at Moab Rim Campark, it is located on the south side of the town looking down on the town rather then being in it. I would not like staying there if I were pitching a tent but if you get one of the cabins on the edge of the park looking down on the town its pretty nice, as the cabins are set away from most of the other parts and separated by enough parking lot area to dull any noise from other spots down to tolerable levels. Our web site explicitly states that these are Economy Cabins and that there are no water, linens or kitchens in the cabins. Being Jeep Safari week there was not a single room available in the entire town. They stayed the entire length of their stay in our park. gearhead 693 Posted May 26, 2011 This is the review I posted about slickrock on tripadvisor: “nasty, nasty, nasty........” Date of review: Apr 29, 2011 This place is a filthy dump. The bathrooms are disgusting. The cabins have no furniture and they have thin plywood walls. Noise and voices travel right through these worthless walls. There is no grass, asplaht roads, or asphalt parking spaces; everything is fine powdered dirt which creates a choking cloud of dust when driven or walked on. This dump is so bad that several members forfeited their deposit and went to stay at a motel. The last night we were there a man was trying to occupy one of our cabins! stockjeep 43 Posted May 26, 2011 we have stayed several times in the rv park because the group we went with always stayed there. the manager "Missy" was a little spun out. But I did tour the facility and made a critique to tripadvisor who did not post my conclusions since I "did not experience the facility".....thanks be for that any way. Slickrock did not refund my deposit as I requested stating that the request was 48 hours late. Their website does not do justice to the disaster that is their facility. The lesson we learned is to read the reviews or even better know someone who has been there, done that. I did visit one other motel in Moab and liked it, it was on the north side of town, sort of, called the Red Rock Lodge. The prices were less than at the Slickrock. Chris and I stayed at the Silver Stage Inn down near the City Market and liked it a lot, and made the reservations the day before we left for Moab. It was not the Easter jeep Safari which was scheduled to start after most of us left town. I think this place was really good in the past, but the current management does not seem to be into repeat business at this time. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
