Phildo 2 Posted September 4, 2009 This is a car with a trailer that I just brought to Scottsdale from Lost Hills, CA. Its a 1955 Pontiac Starchief. The trailer was custom built. The roof is a functioning boat. Pretty cool. This is a crazy car that I hauled from Nevada to Florida. It was one of 3 made and its called a Bluejin. The other 2 run, and are in private collections over seas. They were made in Cali for a movie that ran out of money and was never produced. This car was just a shell going to a kit car shop in FL to be placed on a Porsche Boxter frame. This next one is a Bentley Continental GT. This is the part of my job that I love. I get to occasionaly drive $200,000 plus cars. This is another one of my favorite hauls, took this one to the Canadian border in North Dakota. This is the crappy part of the job, I lost the wheels off the back of my truck south of Nephi, UT. Thats when I decided that a one ton just wasnt cut out for this line of work and bought the Freightliner that you see in some of the pics. This was a 32' Scarrab Racer. I haul boats too if they pay good. Too bad I dont get to test drive these. 1000 HP twin bowties under this bad boy. I picked it up in Key Largo, FL. WOW, WOW, WOW is it beautiful down there. dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted September 4, 2009 Phil, those are so cool! For sure keep them coming! That Pontac Starchief with matching trailer is rare, yes? And the Bluejin? Never even heard of that one. Bet it turns a lot of heads. I'd have to say my favorite here is the ('69?) SS Camaro - I've always thought it would be cool to restore one. Phildo 2 Posted September 5, 2009 Yep, 1969 SS, very VERY nice car. I had a 71 El Camino on the trailer also. I had a group of people gathered at every place I stopped pulling that Camaro. That Starchief made Los Angeles and Phoenix traffic even worse than usuall. I had people slowing down to take cell phone pics and stuff. Phildo 2 Posted September 5, 2009 I had my wheels balanced at a Discount Tire here in Phoenix before I left with this load up to Montana. As soon as I hit the road the second day the rear end of the truck slammed down to the ground and 2 tires flew past me going about 65 mph. The lugs were all sheared off, and the 2 lugs that I was able to find indicated to me that they were loose. It was completely my fault for not checking my truck after having it serviced, LESSON LEARNED! I got really lucky as nobody was hurt, the cars didnt get hurt, and we were back on the road the next day! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
