Maddogjeeper 2 Posted September 18, 2011 One thing I noticed right away; I have a small rounded gutter at the foot of my short, slightly up hill, driveway. In the past, when the rear wheels had been stopped in that gutter I had to keep pressing on the gas pedal untill the jeep gain so much RPM that it shot out of the gutter into the garage. Now a slight increase in the gas rolls the jeep out of the gutter and into the garage. I guess the tranny had been slipping a great deal and my experiance with automatic jeeps was nil so I didn't know what I should have expected.
klaykrusher 65 Posted September 20, 2011 Man Dennis, I had no idea. I just figured that's the way it was m/eant to handle. Only would notice what you described in 4hi on steep inclines on the trail and I just figured it was the added weight of equipment. I would always hunker down to 4lo and it would krawl no problem. Sorry to hear this.
Maddogjeeper 2 Posted September 20, 2011 No problem Dave, I didn't know either. But what made the tranny fail was fluid starvation and that was because the shop that installed the deeper tranny pan didn't pin the pickup tube like I asked.
Maddogjeeper 2 Posted September 21, 2011 Dave, I guess what I mean to say is I'm still very happy with my purchase of the LJ. This just gave me an opportunity to upgrade.
