what's the prognosis on the high temp issue with Clifford?

I installed the mechanical fan back on with even worse results. I am taking a brake from Clifford and working on Maddogs LJ to unwind. George:cool:

sounds like you might have a blocked water jacket in the engine somewhere that is causing reduced flow and overheating???

I'm thinking about flushing the block with acid. George:cool:

G just went out to work on Clifford. He had a huge jug of solution of some sort, some plastic tubing, a ball valve and other assorted tools. Looked like some sort of chemistry experiment; I'm not sure if I should be nervous or not. d

Sounds like their both gonna get sloshed....:P

You might be right.

I guess if you can't wheel it, you should turn your Jeep into a Micro-Brewery:

cool, hope that does the trick.

my son & I have been dealing with a similar issue with his willies truck that we built a 327 for a few years ago. it has always run hot. we took out the 4 row brass rad and put a 2 row cross flow alum unit built here in kingman. still ran hot. he parked it for a couple of years and just recently I brought it to our house and put a high flow water pump on it with the same results. I finally used a infra red temperature gun from work with a surface thermometer and they both showed 180-190 at the thermostat housing and at the inlet of the top tank. bottom tank outlet showed 150. bottom line all three gauges we have used were crap. the last one from summit was suspect because it stuck at 130 when cold. the high-flow pump may of cured the problem but what are the odds of three different guages being bad.

OK, I can't contain myself, was there any smoke, bright flashing lights, loud noises, or more likely in this instance noxious gases noted?

Keep us in the loop?
