Neither Diff cover had a drainage hole, so George decided to make his own. He drilled and tapped them:

 

 

He made the plugs out of bolts that he slotted for a flat-blade screwdriver:

 

 

Covered them in Teflon Tape:

 

 

Teflon didn't work. He ended up using RTV:

Today George took apart the wallowed-out, bolted on rear shock mounts and weld them on:

 

 

Here are the shock mounts welded on. He also welded the the rear part of the mount but forgot to take a picture (sorry):

George cut off the spare tire mount, the highlift jack mount and the front seat harness bar out of the interior cage:

 

 

 

This really opened up the space inside; now there's room for gear and emergency sleeping:

 

 

A trip to the junk yard yielded seats, a rear carpet and a few other goodies.

Clifford is coming along! Here's what has gotten done lately. Here's George checking for rear brake-ware:

 

 

Here you can see the emergency brake shoes; they're good:

 

 

Here you can see the rear brake pads; old and new. Big difference!

 

 

After installing the new Rock Crusher Diff Cover, we discovered that the fill plug would NOT COME OUT!

 

 

 

 

None of these improvised tools worked. After a few tries he noticed he was reaming out the plug. He ended up beating the crap out of the side of the plug with a ball peen hammer and then he air-hammered it out with a modified 2" extension. (The hammering broke the seal on red lock-tight). Dang, that was a chore! Then he filled it up with diff fluid and used the factory diff cover plug.

 

 

Here is the universal emergency brake system from Currie (we think), George didn't like it. Everything was loose, it didn't work correctly.

 

 

So he used the cables and rigged it into the factory brackets. Now it's easily adjustable:

Here's George fitting our $16 factory carpet around the interior cage:

 

 

 

Then we spent the day piecing the interior back together:

 

 

 

 

The stock trim clip things were trashed in the rear lift-gate, so George used sheet-metal screws to put the trim piece back on:

 

 

Here's the roof-coating and webbing head-liner finished. (BTW, there's a lot more headroom!)

I pulled it off this today, came off easy. The nut might have been to loose. I plan on retorquing tomorrow. George:cool:
