Spoke to the park service recently and they said access to see the bridge and dam is good to go. Should be a fun trip. I'm getting excited!

Yes my trip is shaping up for the first week of august. I guess you have answered my question about water levels and rapids. I have seen internet photos of rapids below hoover dam- not something I want to attempt on a ski. I bought a lake mead nra map last night so I'll do some more checking. Sounds like a mohave lake beach overnight camp. Good info as always ob1 thanks a lot!

Anyone have experience running black canyon below hoover dam? I'm looking to do an overnight camping trip on my jetski in the canyon sometime late july. I hear there are beaches below willow beach. Anyone been there before? Anyone interested?

I think I may be a friday night camper but I'm not sure yet. I'll confirm as we get closer. If I do I'll leave tucson around noon and shoot to be there around 5. I'm fairly familiar with the area and should be able to find it ok but I'm always up for company

Planning a snow run trip to Chiva Falls tomorrow 12/30/10 weather permitting. Meet at the last Circle K on Tanque Verde at 0900. At the very least we'll cruise around the Reddington Pass area and hopefully get some cool photo's of snow in the desert

Yes I have done hands pass aka whitetail canyon. Again it's been years, It's basically an overgrown wash, lot's of pinstriping, nothing too tough but that depends on the latest storm, the canyon can get washed out pretty bad. A pretty trail tho'. We camped near Paradise for the weekend and did the trail on saturday. A lot has changed down there in the last few years with all the illegal traffic. I hear pretty scary stories coming out of that part of the state now. Would want to be with a good sized group if I was camping down there now

Who- YOU What- Jackson Cabin Trail Ride- Rated Easy When- Sunday 12/12/10, 0800 Where- TTT Truck Stop in Tucson Why- Why Not How Much- $0 We’ll meet at the TTT truck stop in Tucson at 0800, rolling at 0830. We’ll caravan to Benson where we’ll take exit 340 and hook up with the road to Muleshoe Ranch. The Jackson Cabin trail starts at the Muleshoe Ranch. The trail is rated easy and should be suitable for stock vehicles. I took my stock Liberty in there a number of years ago with no problems. This is a long trail and there will be plenty of sight-seeing along the way so plan on an all day adventure. For those coming from the Phoenix area it is possible to take the back way home up the San Pedro valley road to San Manuel and back to Phoenix. The historic Jackson Cabin is reached by 26 miles of graded dirt road, followed by a 14-mile, rough 4WD trail. The scenery around the beautiful Galiuro Mountains, combined with the lush riparian habitat, abundance of birds and wildlife, and many hiking trails, make the area well worth visiting. The trail crosses Muleshoe Ranch, now owned by the Arizona Nature Conservancy as well as the BLM and the National Forest Service. It commences outside the gate of the Muleshoe Ranch Visitor Center. Also in the area: The 6,600-acre Redfield Canyon Wilderness is at the foot of the Galiuro Mountains, with the Galiuro Wilderness to the north. Redfield Canyon itself is a narrow, red-walled canyon below tall cliffs. The cliff walls are spotted with a multitude of eroded caves. Hidden deep in some of the side canyons, you'll find cascades of water and deep, cool pools fed by perennial streams. On the eastern edge of Redfield Canyon Wilderness you'll find the fault-block landform called "the Galiuro Escarpment," an impressive rise of land that is typical in the Basin and Range Province. Haven't done it in a long time but was not difficult last time, more of a stocker run. Is a long trail and is located near wilcox area. Runs along the escarpment of the galiuro mountains so it is pretty scenic. Also down near the nature conservancy redfield canyon area

Thinking about squeezing in a So AZ day run before the holidays, either Sat or Sun 12/11-12/12. Any interest? Suggestions or requests? Maybe Jackson Cabin?
