Lockhart Basin & Moab Trails, Sept. 2012 Pictures & Trip Report

Recommended Posts

We had planned to run Steelbender today, but rain over night and a steady sprinkle this morning made us reconsider since the Well's book says that part of it is impassible when wet.

We ended up doing Fins & Things since it's right here in town & none of us had ever done it before.

Followed by our annual visit to Potato Salad Hill:

So we're planning on running Steelbender tomorrow, hopefully it won't rain all night...

Ran Steel Bender today. It was a good thing we didn't run it yesterday because parts were washed out. Here's a few pictures from the day:

Here's everybody at 'The Fall':

Don't let this picture fool you. This obstacle was uber gnarley:

Tomorrow we're doing Kane Creek Canyon as a wind down from Moab trails. Diane

Brave soul to try the fall in a swb jeep. I see the winch line and like the use of the line tool/weighted throw. Looks like fun!

Today we ran Kane Creek Canyon. Here we are at the airdown spot:

Here is a picture at the top of the gnarley shelf road coming out of the creek:

Gearhead was the 'Wheeler of the Day' because he ran his YJ with open diffs on all the gnarley obstacles that us locked guys did.

(BTW, I've never named anyone 'Wheeler of the Day' before)...
