Freya: Aimee's 2021 WK2 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk V8

Recommended Posts

Freya did a great job towing another little travel trailer (rental) from the valley up to the Mogollon rim this weekend.

Freya got some Sedona red dust last weekend doing Schnebly hill road. it's gotten a bit rougher than I remembered, and so we had to go a lot slower than expected to keep from bottoming out in some areas.

anyway, this trip made me think about skid plates. if i remember correctly, there are 2 areas not covered well by the factory skids, but i need to do some research again.

Freya led the day trip to the Cinders OHV area at the ORP Gala in Flagstaff this weekend. had to take the whoops a little slower than in Gadget, but she did just fine overall! (thanks to @4x4tographer for the photos)

Freya has over 45k miles on here currently! the only issue we've had so far was a slight weep from one corner of the transmission pan (which was covered under warranty).

she earned her keep towing our travel trailer again this past weekend.

once again the Falken A/T3W's have lasted less than half of their mileage warranty (24k out of the supposed 55k). tThe front were at 3/32" and 4/32" tread depth. the rears are only a little better, but to get the pro-rated allowance on those through Discount Tire/Falken, i'll have to wait till they also get down to 4/32" too.

ayway, she got 2 of the new A/T4W's for now, which are supposed to be a little harder rubber and have a 65k mile tread warranty. the 4W are also XL rated instead of SL. if these don't last longer then we'll be ditching the Falken brand next time.

got an oil change at the dealer yesterday and i replaced the air filter.

we're right at 50k miles so i plan to change the fluids in the diffs, t-case, brake system, and power steering. only the diffs are really necessary, but i'm trying to be pro-active about service to keep this thing in excellent condition!

the trans should be fine as the pan was recently replaced under warranty so most of the fluid got changed as well as the filter (it's integrated into the pan).

the coolant is supposed to be good for 100k miles, so i'll probably wait till 80k to do a flush on that.
