dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted November 1, 2010 There's a cleanup at Sugarloaf / Sycamore that George and I have participated in for several years. We use this area pretty often, so we're all for the cleanup effort, and we'll be there. If anybody wants to go help out, sign up here & I'll communicate our numbers to the coordinator. From the VJC: Hello all, my name is Chad and I am a member of the VJC as well as the secretary for Copperstate 4 wheelers. I am in the early stages of planning a trail clean up for Saturday November the 13th for the Sugar loaf/Sycamore area. The trail clean up will start at 7AM meeting at the Sugar Loaf turn off on highway 87. I was really hoping for a big turn out as this area is in real need of attention. I want to get the word out. I would really like as many people as possible out there and I though this would be a great place to advertise this cleanup. As I said, planning is in the early stages, I have started with contacting the Tonto national forest, the Arizona state association of 4x4 clubs, TRAL, and here on the VJC. As updates become available I will forward them along. I can be contacted here on the VJC or at chad@copperstate4wheelers.com Thank you, Chad Link to VJC Thread
K7VZ 19 Posted November 8, 2010 Update that was posted. Hi all. I've been trying to keep up this weekend and will be sending out mass emails tomorrow and posting up messages on all the various boards. The clean up is still a go for this Saturday November the 13th. The meeting time was planned for 7AM but I understand the early start time can put some people in a crunch so it is flexible of course. I'm happy to have volunteers come out regardless of when they arrive. We will plan on working to between noon and 1PM with the raffle being held at 1PM. The meeting location is approx 1/4 mile on the right after leaving highway 87 at the Sugar loaf turn off on the WEST side of highway 87. We will be having a raffle for all who attend. Also, Vitamin water has been gracious to donate several cases of water as well as Az clean and beautiful. Thank you in advance to everyone who will be attending and please pass the word. If you have any questions please contact me at chad@copperstate4wheelers.com. Chad

dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted November 11, 2010 7is a little too early for me. Should be able to be there by 9-930. Sounds good to me. It was 46 degrees in F.H. at 7:00 this morning, and I don't do cold very well. d
Sc00by 8 Posted November 12, 2010 Well change of plans / heart We (son & I) are gonna hit this clean up & spend a little time together. Now pardon my lack of knowledge, but where exactly is the turn off for this area?
dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted November 12, 2010 Hi Paul, Take Hwy. 87 north past the Bush Hwy. turn-off. Keep going north (about 3 to 4 miles) to the turn-off (the next one I think) that goes either to Four Peaks (right) or Sugarloaf (left). You'll go left and down the dirt road a quarter mile or so to sign in. Could I have made that anymore confusing for you? d
Sc00by 8 Posted November 12, 2010 Clear as mud it's 1.5hr drive from my place, so well leave here around 6. So that should put us there 7:30ish And Ill bring the trailer again too to help with the big stuff
dzJeepChic 2,897 Posted November 12, 2010 Okay, well we'll be there a little later than that, and it's a HUGE area, so we might not see you until the lunch & raffle, but we'll be looking for you! Thanks for choosing to spend your Saturday on this much needed effort - the area has been abused. d
