  1. I came up on US 70 today and wanted everyone to know that the gas station in Fort Thomas is closed. The next gas station that is open is in Bylas and I believe it's only unleaded. I didn't see diesel but not positive they don't have any. Bylas is about 12 miles NW of Fort Thomas.
  2. I thought this might interest some of you. http://www.motorhomemagazine.com/rv-travel-news/national-parks-fee-free-days-set-for-2013/#.UOPhCXrEyRE.facebook
  3. Nothing else needs to be changed, it's very easy. All your steering, brake lines, and suspension stays the same. You don't even need to get an alignment. I put 4.56 gears in but you are fine if you have stock 3.73's. I started with stock 3.21 gears, they worked with the bigger tires but not well.
  4. George, JKGoose, Savage Sun, and I put my Tera flex 2.5" lift on my Jeep in about 3 hours or so in the driveway with no special tools. I could easily put a 35" tire on mine but I went with a 33". When you decide to upgrade your tires I wouldn't go any smaller then a 33" because the price difference between a 32 and 33" is minimal, plus ascetically the 33" looks better. The biggest reason though is that even though it's only 1/2" higher you can go over A LOT more stuff. Just my .02
  5. BALLJOINTNUT please PM me or start a thread about some quail hunting. I need a good spot too.
  6. Hey K dude. I'm going to be up there for the weekend and I'm going to try to meet up with you. Don't wait for me or anything but I'll probably meet you after breakfast for the run.
  7. I know a really good guy not to far from you. His name is Scott and his shop is next to the car wash on the southeast corner of Baseline and Power in Mesa. He's done a couple of my cars and a lot of friends also. Does a good job and has reasonable prices. Let me know if you would like his contact info.
  8. I have a Wilderness Roof Rack part #34087 for a 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. This is brand new never used rack with all of the parts except for the hardware. I do have the list of bolts that are missing and they are common and could be purchased anywhere for probably around $20 or so. I also have the installation instructions. This rack sells on the web for $838.99 plus shipping on the web. I am asking $500 and it would need to be picked up. I could meet you locally. If you have the ability I think you could make this work on your TJ without to much trouble. It looks like just the front A pillar connections are different. You can PM me, call, or text. 480-327-7203. If I don't answer please leave a message and I'll call you back right away.
  9. We made it home Sunday night about 830 with no traffic problems. There was heavy traffic around Black Canyon but it moved well. Thanks for the fun weekend and hope to see you all very soon on another trail.
  10. Yah, top 5! Does that make me a "Charter Member"?
  11. Hey Matt, me and my dog Belle would like to go with you on this trip but I don't think I could make it to the meeting spot. Would it be possible to meet you somewhere on the back side of Mt Lemmon after you do your hike seeing that I'm coming from the Phoenix area? Either PM me or post up what you think would work if anything. Also, do you know if I would still need a permit coming up the back way?
  12. I saw this on tv and thought I'd share it here. Hopefully this will keep someone safe from them. You can either check the hotel you are thinking about staying or you can report hotels that you have encountered bed bugs. http://bedbugregistry.com
  13. Believe me, after awhile waking up with bites and having phantom feelings all over your body, the smell of the chemicals aren't so bad. I have 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 small children so I was very careful where I sprayed. I also bought a steamer. The steamer kills them on contact so I would use that on furniture, beds, and other places that my animals and children had direct contact. Come to think of it, if you had the room I guess you could bring a steamer with you to places if you were worried about bed bugs there. It fits in a box that is about 12"x12"x24".
  14. Bed bugs are about the nastiest things on the planet. The only thing that will kill bed bugs is a professional strength insecticide that you have to get from a pest control company or a temperature of about 102 for many hours. I know this unfortunately because about a year ago the care giver for my wife's grandfather brought them into our house. Having them around is like living in one of the worst layers of hell. They can go almost a year without feeding so when you spray your house they will go hide inside the walls for a couple months until the poison is gone and then they come back out to feed and then you have to spray again. It took over 6 months with constant vacuuming, spraying, and putting cloths in the dryer (The dryer will kill them in about 20 minutes if you have them on your cloths.) to get rid of them all, not to mention all the money for the spray we used, and I pray we never have to deal with that again. To avoid bringing them home you should always keep you bags outside until you can put your cloths directly into the washing machine. The nice thing about summer here is that if you set your gear outside all day on a 100 degree day it should kill any unwanted travelers in or on your gear. Be careful because if you think staying one or two nights in a place with bed bugs is bad. Think about how it would be if they came home with you and you had to deal with that every night.
  15. I would be interested in your old touch screen. Let me know the model and the price.
  16. Me, Zander, and Belle will be heading out either tomorrow around 5 or first thing Saturday morning. George could you please bring that cb antenna that you said I could have up with you? Thanks and see you up there.
  17. I can't believe no one's has thought of this yet. I think it's PERFECT! K-der. The K dude + Vader
  18. Hey K, did you notice if whether or not getting sand, dust, etc. would be an issue if gotten into the mechanisms? I want to buy one of these but am concerned about those locking up due to rust or something, especially if it sat all summer like mine do a lot now.
  19. Sorry but I will not be making it this weekend. I will see you on Goose's photo shoot. Have fun.
