    Nice welds OB! Not to steal your tread but I have an aftermarket aluminum armored skid plate for a TJ if anyone is interested. $100.00.

    Road flares at night are very intimidating to bears; they are bright and make a lot of noise; not quite as much noise as a shotgun though.

    I think I'm opting for the Las Vegas/Beatty/Topaz route. It may be slightly longer but much prettier than that central valley route. I am probably going to trailer my jeep. Is anyone leaving Friday or Saturday?

    Chris, I just purchased a motor home and this would be a good shake down run to see how it will pull the jeep; so I may show up on the evening of the 28th. It would be good to see you again. Dennis

    If you buy a magnetic base, external antenna for your handheld you can greatly increase your range. I have a 12 inch magnetic antenna and had it mounted in the center of my F350 roof and talked to theksmith more than 20 miles away and over a low ridge at Hole in the Rock, UT.

    I had one on my other jeep and liked it; but I would recommend a 1 in engine lift and a 1in body lift either before or during your installation of the tummy tucker to alleviate any clearance problems.

    Actually Bill and Nadine bought me a bottle last year and it is very good vodka, easily on a par with Grey Goose.
