Phildo 2 Posted September 8, 2009 Thanks to George, I got my first Mod today. The roof on this JK gets so flippin hot that you cant touch it. So I hit up George for a few coats of something (?) that really did the trick. Taping off: The first coat: This coat was followed by 3 more coats and it looks really good. I could already feel a difference during the 30 mile drive home. MUCH, MUCH cooler in side. So much cooler that the A/C was turned down 2 notches from where it normaly is during the day. I am really happy with the job that George did, it really looks good and functions good. I cant wait to feel the roof after sitting in the sun all day tomorrow.

theksmith 5,778 Posted April 8, 2010 so do you know what that stuff is. I might do this to my XJ.... George is a roofer by trade and buys a high-quality roof coating in bulk. Most of the stuff sold by-the-gallon to the general consumer is going to be lower quality and probably require more coats, and still might not have as high of an R value. I see you are in NY, go ahead and PM Number 7 and ask him what brands you might look for at Home Depot / Lowes that would be decent to use... I'd recommend anyone in AZ talk to Number 7 and get it directly from him, or better yet just let him do the whole thing for you for a good deal!
