It is a stock tube with an airaid attachment and a k&n universal cone filter p/n RG-1001BL (in blue:cool:). The tube & attachment are held together with a home brew metal strap that bolts to the fenderwell. scottL 185 Posted March 28, 2018 Got my new Mopar A/c compressor installed. The old one still worked but was beginning to chirp like a canary on cold starts. While wheelin' in Swansea, the jeep was parked & running with air on for Ms. Shelley when I noticed my a/c clutch making a louder than normal "clunk" engaging and disengaging. The new unit arrived Monday & yesterday I took it to my mechanic since I do not stock R-134 at home. He put it on for $100 and recharged my system for the cost of freon, it was 2lbs low. He said my system has no leaks but needed refilling due to "seasonal discharge" & further explained most older vehicle HVAC systems typically last 3 years in the Valley of the Sunstroke prior to needing a refill. The a/c blows colder than a witches boob now & I noticed less drag on my serpentine system, much less noise on start up. Especially cold starts. theksmith 5,778 Posted March 28, 2018 in this one case, chrome might get you home hey you mentioned on my thread that you added a grade 8 shock bolt... that grade 5 bolt you had in there shearing off might have actually saved your spenesive shock since you aren't bump-stopped correctly - just a thought. Occasionally on cold starts it will squeal for a few seconds, but the most notable problem is when it’s engaged I can feel the strain it places on the serpentine belt from inside the cab. Where did you find the Mopar unit? I’ve seen remmaned units online, but I’m not too keen on that and would prefer a Mopar replacement Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
