Now having issues with my Tsunami terminals. One of the positive side jam screws stripped from corrosion leaving me high & dry. After taking them off I noticed the undersides on both terminals look like 200 year old burned porcelain. Going to try a new set of "Raptor PRO" terminals from Amazon because I have about 15 different wires connected to my battery: Hopefully they won't corrode like the Turdnami's. Made installation a breeze 750 CCA's baby I've been told Blue top Optima's aren't good for starting vehicles but it really depends on which kind of Blue top you purchase. Their website states it doesn't matter which color is on top, rather the case color. Mine has the light gray case. Post count is the only real difference between blue tops and yellow tops. scottL 185 Posted February 1, 2018 Kris came over a couple weeks ago & we worked on my iphone air vent mount, converting it to threaded stud for new Gaia GPS w/ Topo app Took off my dash center bezel & suddenly remembered a tab broke off years ago that I had bonded back into place. Removing the old mount would have done more harm than good So I bolted the iphone mount to my previous Garmin_Colorado_400 clip It's no Gadgt Jp but now I know my garage floor is 1,413ft above sea level:cool: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Think I might need to get some Raptors... the best route is to crimp and/or solder terminal ring connectors and then hook those to any good clamp (military or otherwise)... or to the threaded secondary posts if your battery has them. a good crimp or solder job combined with some marine heat-shrink will ensure a low-resistance waterproof connection. it's just that not everyone has a large gauge crimper or can solder. car-audio style connections, where a set screw clamps down on bare wire, are much easier to use... but they don't make the best electrical joint. the wires can wiggle loose when moved and the bare wire is prone to corrosion over time - either of which can create a high-resistance connection that may not be obvious when troubleshooting. if you do use the set-screw style like the Tsunami or Raptor clamps have, be sure to pack them with dielectric grease and that you strip just enough insulation that your wires fully seat in the holes.
