stockjeep replied to theksmith's topic in Camping & Overland Living
looks like a great set up. based on what the news has been saying you will get to test it in crap weather this weekend. -
sweet, thats what I'm talking about. thanks again
-
thanks Kris, I appreciate it
-
thanks for the info. that seals the deal, I plan to go with the 60 for now to gain experience then trade up later. the leftover refreshment funds is a big bonus:D I can't believe I missed the Mother of all excuses! The Batteries Died. this will be my default excuse which can be used for gps and cell phones. other excuses: the blm map is crap My wife wrote the directions down wrong. (this one must be used with caution) it looks different at night

wet towels. thats a good idea.

this may be a bad idea for me because I won't have an excuse when I get lost. I've used these in the past: the sun was in my eyes, the tail gunner told me wrong the dog ate my map I'm taking the scenic route I'm a proud member the Fugarwe tribe

I know, its sad. 53 years old and still wet behind the ears:o

Sup George, my tj recently suffered right side sage associated with engine torque and spring arc. I bought a set off used springs to take care of this for now but I'm planning on relocating the upper buckets when I pull the tank for a new check valve / filter install. did you have to pull the tank?

wow! thanks for all the information Kris, the car types I have looked at have a big screen but don't appear to have any function other than showing you how to get to the mall.
-
I don't have a gps but hope to change that soon. with a budget of $300 is there anything out there with the ability to save alot of cookie crumbs and download topo maps a decent size screen would be nice too thanks for any suggestions or recommendations

great info! any data available on bear proof testing? since I may be sleeping under the jeep, this setup wouldn't fit:eek: -
it was good to see Shane and Marty, and its always good to hang out with Woody and his family. hopefully we will see more of them. both of these trails start a couple of miles south of town, you go in at the black bridge. there are several hard trails in that area. these trails were fun because they are a challenge but not dangerous. this is the first time for me on these two. others include, Barny's Revenge, Terry's Revenge, and Home Court. super hard is Pinion Pass which judging from pics I've seen will re-shape your body panels.

some of took in some rock relaxation yesterday. both trails rated 4 one broke hub, one wasted coil spring buck/hanger, one broke main leaf, one broke spring hanger, issues with lockers. one got a ride home on a trailer. fun times with mild 50 degee weather http://walapai4wheeler.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pics&action=display&thread=1136

day run: 11/14/2010: Moderate: Back way to Crown King
stockjeep replied to klaykrusher's topic in Trip & Event Planning/Sign-up
good both you and 4.7 are feeling better. that would be a major bummer to loose the motor. -
the local club has decided it will be spending thanksgiving there this year. other trails include Diamond Back / Sidewinder which I consider one the toughest trails I have ever done, King Corbra is more buggy material then jeep but doable with plenty of luck and a winch. Yahoo Falls, a challenging and fun trail, Boulder Gulch which if the BLM has their way will soon be closed. we have spent thanksgiving in lhc or parker for the last several years. tons of tough and easy trails.
