this is the first obstacle, I got a little high

it snowed in town too, on the way out from the end of the trail it was 6"deep in places which made for some pucker on the narrow off camber areas. I heard the top of the halapai's got nearly a foot.

Here's a few pics from our snow run on Serendipity today. Only one jeep had to winch once (me) on the big water fall. I had a near miss on tipping over backwards. got half way up the big water fall and spun out then stalled, it was a good day Ted & Dawn in his cool jeep- ford 9inch and dana 44 with hydro steering, nice Steve Strain

as you can see the original track bar bracket on the frame had recently cracked so I welded temporary tabs to keep it alive but it was junk and needed replaced. this is a common problem with lifted jeeps / big tires ect. George recommended checking out TMR Customs for a weld on bracket. Good looking item but I was concerned with clearance between the bracket and the spring so I decided to build one myself so here goes. this is what it looked like before the grinding and swearing started. the spacer between the rod end and bracket makes for a lot of leverage. I've never seen one crack like this, I've only seen the bracket ripped from the frame - this one is a real pos the spring needs to come off for access. Not a big deal but make sure the jeep is supported by heavy duty jack stands since you'll be be under it a lot for this process. I used a second smaller jack stand on each side for extra safety. I used a 4" grinder and 1/4" air angle grinder. No skimping on eye protection here, the fine metal particles will ruin an eye asap. good ol cardboard, trace out your design and cut the steel. this is 3/16 and 1/4 stuff. spot it together for a trial fit The final weld done with a Hobart 180 Done! the weld to the frame was a challenge but I had decent results by cutting the wire speed and temp back a notch. I also added a brace from the bracket across to the opposite frame rail. time will tell:eek:

sounds like a ton o fun pulling the body ect.

efi 4.0, 4.88 gears, 5speed stick, tummy tuck transfer case, mini hyd assist steering, I believe 35's and 4" lift leaf springs and 2" body lift. he also grafted on ford knuckles so he would have lock out hubs. stock inner axles with ford 1/2 ton outers, cool setup his jeep works real well

I checked out TnT webpage, looks like the frame bracket bolts on to the frame not welded. looks like a good product

finally extended my front control arms so the springs are not arched back. had to extend the driveshaft so I put on a 8" slip yolk in place of the 6" oem unit. good thing I did this because I discovered my track bar mount on the frame was cracked. it has a support brace but it still cracked. welded a couple of tabs to fix it for now but I see some kind of new bracket in the future. that will be a real pain:(

Three of us ran Cow Creek a couple of weeks ago which is roughly 45 south of Kingman off of Alamo Road in the west side of the Haulapai Mountains. Mostly easy with some very challenging areas thrown in and of course awesome scenery. Lost Canyon is in the Black Mountains west of Kingman. Its very scenic with lots of challenges

a friend that now lives in kingman is a member of the Red Rock 4x4 club in moab and has run it over 30 times. says the rincon portion is awesome too. I had a great time. George, Diane and Kris are superb trail bosses. so with any luck we get another chance to run it soon.

I don't recognize this area, wonder if its on the Rincon portion?
