you were commenting on my rather bright interior lighting the other evening...

i got the brightest of my interior bulbs from here: http://www.vleds.com/

they sell most of their stuff in 5k or 6k color temperatures. 5k is "natural" white, and 6k has a slight blue tinge (most common). if you only replace your dome bulbs, you probably want 6k to match your others.

It was VERY bright. Like someone hiding in the back seat and all of a sudden pointing a flash light in my face bright:eek:

Thanks for the link K!

Found a fab shop that sells rear inner "stiffiners" for 84-01 XJ's & I am considering buying these to completely stiffin' my unitbody.

Remembering my original stiffener set is 3/16" in the center sections and 10 gauge on the front and rears..

Should I get the 3/16" rear inner stiffeners or would 10 gauge be ok since the outside is 10 gauge? & should I get round holes or square?

I have also been eyeing these No Lift XJ Shackle Relocation Brackets

I'm wondering if anyone else has either of these and furthermore would the two interfere with each other?

Not sure if the relocation brackets are worth the trouble or not.

if your interesting shackle relocation brackets look at these:

https://hdoffroadengineering.myshopify.com/products/no-lift-xj-shackle-relocation-brackets

i have the ones that provide a lift and they were super easy to install an beefy as all get out.

Good to know. Those are the same ones I am considering. Now I need to figure out if they'd interfere with the rear inner stiffeners.

what is the benefit of those relocation brackets (in the no-lift style) - is the existing place that the shackle mounts to the body prone to cracking?

it looks like they would work since the stiffeners only add a small thickness to the existing "frame"... i'm sure anyone capable of doing the sort of welding required to install those stiffeners could manage whatever small fabbing might be required to get the products working together. just email/call the bracket company and ask them about it!

The benefit is mainly beef.

Typically, the factory shackle bracket nutsert can break away from rust and you have to cut the bucket to retrieve it.

With my bumper design how it is, the shackles themselves take the force of most hits coming off high ledges & boulders. My brackets are not cracked yet but I noticed my old shackles were bent outward and twisting my leaf packs.

I will purchase those inner "stiffiners" down the road for sure & probably do relocation brackets at the same time.
