Two reasons. And One 1. I wanted the new features of the glide top to ease up/down and window removals. 2. The 11 year old top was torn in places, all zippers were jamming and the rear window zipper was flat out broken. 3. It was a gift from my dad
  7. New Top! I am trying out the new Bestop Trektop® Glide Slantback.

Second Update: Retired the CB Radio for GMRS: https://midlandusa.com/products/mxt275-micromobile-two-way-radio This is overall a much better experience on the trail than CB. With a decent aftermarket antenna the radio is as high quality sound and reliability as a HAM radio on 70cm. I am still running the Ham radio VHF/UHF from a HT in the cab with external antenna.

  12. TRIP INFO: Walnut Canyon is both scenic and a chance to wheel down to the Gila River. This is Fun Trek's 2nd edition run #58 page 140, 3rd Edition its #54 page 136. . The plan is to run the first half of the Fun Trek to waypoint #7 area for lunch. If the Gila river is low we may at the group leaders discretion ford the Gila and egress southwest to Florence out of the mountains and over the open desert. If the Gila doesn't look like a safe fording, we will continue the run northward and egress where we started, about 9.5 miles south of Superior on Battle Axe Rd.
