Event details Join me for 3 days of exploration and chillaxing on this overland style run around the Mogollon Rim area. This area has some amazing scenery, great trails, quiet camp spots, and is generally pretty awesome. I've always enjoyed hanging out up there. We'll end at Highway 87 just North of Payson mid to late morning Sunday. The Trail Rating: Easy-Moderate Based on previous experience most of these trails are easy to maybe light moderate, nothing too technical is involved. Last time I was up that way there were a couple of tricky, not technical, spots on a couple of trails. Nothing we cannot handle. Our Route: The primary route is about 105 miles (give or take a few). We’ll start just north of Camp Verde and head across toward the Mogollon Rim area. On Saturday, we’ll include a stop with a short hike down to Aspen Springs. To get there, we’ll do a quick loop from FR 96 and return to it. Note: Extra fuel isn’t strictly necessary, but it’s always a good idea—especially if you’re running a thirsty rig. You may also be able to help someone if they need it.
